KANAB – On Sunday, in an intimate ceremony, Jackson Galaxy, star of Animal Planet’s “My Cat From Hell,” and Minoo Rahbar, were wed surrounded by immediate family, close friends and one very special animal guest – their dog Mooshka, the ring bearer.

The ceremony took place at the Best Friends Animal Society’s sanctuary in Kanab in a special location they call “Angels Landing.”

The Best Friends Animal Society is situated in Angel Canyon in red rock country and the wedding venue is in a natural amphitheatre of red rock with planted grass and trees that surround it and shield it from view of the road.

The venue hosts about 12-15 weddings each year, Media Director Barbara Williamson said.

Galaxy released an official statement about the wedding and the special venue:

Getting married at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary was everything that we hoped it would be. Minoo and I have gladly dedicated much of our lives to the wellbeing of all animals, and there is no better place we could think of that both in spirit and commitment reflected our passion, not to mention our love for one another. The location, Angel’s Landing, is a natural amphitheater carved from the sandstone, and as everyone who has been there would attest, the spot itself is powerful, romantic and peaceful. The spirit that permeates the canyon is tangible and the result was something we’ll never forget. Our hope is that if you love animals as much as we do, you will make the trip to this sanctuary. It can’t be described, only experienced. And our experience was magical.

St. George’s own Chef Greg Reith, owner and executive chef of Market Café, catered the event.

“The culinary logistics were as complicated as any that my staff or I have had,” Reith said, “I think it was the performance of my career.”

Reith spoke kindly of the couple and said that they were “beautiful people who were a delight to work with and who were very good to us.”

Country and proud of it! Apparently you are impressed with celebrities and are the authority on who does or doesn’t qualify as one. Who gives a crap? This guy does a lot of work for animal welfare, and apparently his new wife does too. We watch his show quite often. Apparently you watch Homer Simpson and think he is a “Celebrity”. WOW!
