LETTER TO THE EDITOR – We recently visited our newly transplanted friends in Ivins, over the Christmas holiday.
It was a whirlwind driving trip from Poway, California.
Words cannot do justice the beauty and majesty of the area.
Our dear friends, the Modes, showed us the sights – manmade (I LOVE Christmas lights) and natural splendor!
Everyone from the hotel personnel, the food servers, the clerks and other visitors, were friendly and helpful.
While driving home we noticed in Las Vegas that my husband had lost his wallet – over $300 in vacation money in it plus credit cards, etc.
I prayed.
When we arrived home there was a message on our answering machine. The wallet and all the contents had been turned in. Our wonderful benefactor did not leave any contact number for us to thank them personally or offer them a cash reward.
So we are “paying it forward,” and donating to The St. Vincent de Paul group at our parish.
To our Earthbound Angel … thank you! We will definitely be back!

Lol, the (more than likely) LDS person who found it will be pleased to hear a donation to the Catholic Church has been given in their honor!
I understand that the Catholic church and the LDS church cooperate on many humanitarian aid projects around the world. Whoever the benefactor was, I suspect he/she will be pleased with the donation.
Didn’t both of those churches conspire to create the Proposition 8. That’s where a lot of church donation money went, to create Proposition 8, to campaign for it on a political forum. Proposition 8 cost millions of dollars, divided friends and families and resulted in a few deaths (suicides). Isn’t religion wonderful?
I’m sure whoever returned the wallet will be pleased that a donation has been made to such a worthy cause in their honor.
And leave it to Koolaide to respond to such an uplifting article with a totally off-topic religious slam. But I’m learning to completely skip over anything Koolaide ever has to say.
Maybe they sent it to me, thinking that I’m a worthy cause.
I found and turned in a wallet with all its ccontents three years ago. That doesn’t make me a mormon.
It’s not about where it was donated but the fact that it will help someone in need.
There are still a lot of good honest people here. Sometimes it just seems they are getting fewer every day.
Actually there are a lot of honest people here and it seems like we’re getting more and more everyday.. not less but that’s just your opinion..

It is sad that people focus on what religion a person is instead of focusing on what they did.
Koolaid, please drink it already. You need medication. And put us all out of YOUR misery. You turn everything good into something negative. If I had to live with you I would probably be suicidal too. Get off your computer and go for a walk.

Koolaid,your words are become more obnoxious than the words you preach against. Im not evem Mormon and its driving me nuts. Which is probably most of the reason you are doing it,but seriously man,come up with a new angle to try to irritate people.
I have a theory that he either works at St. George News and is trying to stir up issues to promote commenting or he is an employee of the Spectrum trying to annoy us all into not reading the articles on St. George News.
You are generous, Anon, in allowing for opposing possibilities. If Koolaid works at St. George News he or she is very clever and has outwitted me. In case there is any doubt, I would find it unethical for our reporters to comment under a pseudonym. As for our neighbors in news, I bet they don’t have any interest in spending their time being a regular in our comment forum either.
