LITTLEFIELD, Arizona – As of about 2:40 p.m. Thursday, southbound traffic on Interstate 15 near milepost 12 in the Virgin River Gorge is backed up due to a commercial vehicle fire. The incident occurred just over 3 miles north of Littlefield, Arizona.
As of 2:54 p.m., one southbound lane had reopened at milepost 12.5, Arizona Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Sgt. John Bottoms said in a message to St. George News.
“Avoid I-15 southbound at all costs for the next couple (of) hours,” Bottoms said.
Traffic is reportedly backed up for 7 miles.
