WASHINGTON CITY – A three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Green Springs Drive and Red Hills Parkway-Buena Vista Drive in Washington Tuesday afternoon impeded traffic and required two vehicles to be towed from the scene.
Just after 2 p.m., the driver of a gray pickup truck was traveling west on Buena Vista Drive and attempting to turn left to go south on Green Springs Drive, Washington City Police spokesman Ed Kantor said.
As the driver of the truck turned left, Kantor said, he failed to yield to an eastbound cargo van and the two vehicles collided.
The force of the impact then caused the cargo van to strike a black Saturn car that was stopped at a red light waiting to turn left to travel west on Red Hills Parkway.
No injuries were reported as a result of the collision, Kantor said. However, the crash rendered the truck and the cargo van inoperable, requiring both vehicles to be towed.
The driver of the truck was issued a citation for failure to yield, Kantor said.
Traffic in the area was impeded for some time as crews worked to clear debris and remove the vehicles from the scene.
Washington City Police and Fire departments responded to the incident.
