Affected area

Washington, Kane and Garfield counties.

Snow Accumulations

New accumulations of 6-12 inches of snow in areas with locally higher amounts possible.

Winds

Winds 20-30 mph with higher gusts are expected Monday, which may result in considerable blowing and drifting of new snow.

Timing

Periods of snow will continue through tonight. Snow may become lighter or even end for a period Sunday morning, but the next system will arrive Sunday afternoon. Snow from that system will be quite heavy at times through late Monday night.

Impacts

Winter driving conditions can be expected through tonight across the southern mountains. The second storm Sunday afternoon through Monday night will create significant travel impacts along all routes through central and southern Utah. Periods of blowing and drifting snow will also create reduced visibilities at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions

A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet, or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

A winter weather advisory means that snow accumulations will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and use caution while driving.
