Letter to the Editor: Our Constitution of our United States of America

OPINION – I liken unto myself — with regard to our Constitution of our United States of America — portions of a half-page article in the May issue of the “American Legion Auxiliary” magazine, entitled “Constitution & Bylaws: These Documents Protect You.”

This article reads in part:

The year was 1937, American Legion Auxiliary National President Mrs. Oscar Hahn
offered in her opening address to the convention delegates a message encouraging
firmness and effectiveness in all activities…a solid constitution is like a good friend—
a haven of security.

It is as true today as it was in 1937—a good constitution really is like a haven of
security in a storm…learn to treat your governing documents with the respect they
have earned and deserve. These documents embrace and protect you. They answer
questions and avoid conflict…

Why have governing documents?

Three answers to this question caught my heart: “(1) to clarify our purpose, the reason we exist, (2) to describe the rights and responsibilities of (all citizens of our United States of America), and (3) to allow (citizens) and potential (citizens) to have a better understanding of what our (United States of America) is all about and how it functions.”

It is my hope and prayer that all citizens — I include myself — and potential citizens of our great country will always strive to uphold and protect our Constitution of our United States of America, regardless of ethnicity, race, religion or cultural background, for our Constitution was founded under the direction of our Father in Heaven, and it remains in His Everlasting Hands.

Respectfully submitted by: Barbra Elizabeth, Hurricane

…and I see a picture of the “as INcorrectly translated 35-cent W. Cleon Skousen” version of the Constitution of the United States of America, favored by Bundyites and their extreme anti-American right wing sycophants.

I view the Constitution as a sacred document. It is the undisputed LAW OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The Constitution was the result of living under the tyranny of a despotic king and forced religion. Those that don’t know the history are moving to force us to relive the lessons of our nation’s past. They want to establish Islam and the religion of our country and force all to join an extreme version of it under penalty of death. They wish to replace the “man made” Constitution with the law of Allah Sharia. That Law would again establish religious tyrants as our absolute rulers. May God bless the Constitution of the United States of America and give us strength to crush those who would fight against it.

yep, a lot a cities are gaining a huge population of muslims. US policy is to import about 500,000 muslims per year as “refugees” from the mid-east and africa. wonderful thing to do, right? allahu akbar!

fun fact: if any of our wonderful stalinesque national security agencies brand you a ‘suspected terrorist’ the constitution no longer applies and you basically get disappeared. Great political tool for a totalitarian regime. Not sure how much is left of our constitution. 8 years baby bush & 8 years of hussein have eroded it badly.

Our constitution is a secular document with no regard to any one religion, it was not founded on religious holdings. There is this little thing called Separation of Church & State assuring the government may not embrace religion. When will you religious people come to grip with the fact you are free to practice your religion, but the constitution protects us from being a theocracy? The person above with all the Allah and sharia law nonsense is just paranoid for no reason.

I think that is the Cato Institute Constitution, but it does seem to be displayed prominently in every sovereign citizen’s breast pocket. Wonder what Loyal Opposition’s thinking is about sacred documents, as the Constitution should never be considered as such, since that would mean that the division of church and state has already broken down, which is what Loyal Opposition doesn’t like. Yikes.

Islamic culture clashes hard with culture of the west. the muslims for 100s of years had been invading and trying to fully conquer europe. in modern times they invite them in and give them housing and food, but the muslims never quite got over their conquering mindset. strange times.
