Updated 6:55 p.m. The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has cancelled the wind advisory for west-central and southwest Utah. Winds have diminished below advisory levels. However, locally windy conditions are expected to continue in these areas overnight.
SOUTHERN UTAH – The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for west-central and southwest Utah effective Saturday from noon-8 p.m. Southerly winds are expected at 25-35 mph, with frequent gusts around 50 mph.

Southerly winds 25 to 35 mph with frequent gusts in the 45 to 55 mph range are expected with the strongest gusts in the western valleys.
Timing
Noon to early evening hours.
Impacts
Strong crosswinds may cause travel difficulty on east-west routes, especially those towing trailers or operating high profile vehicles.
Wind-sensitive operations may be impacted.
Precautionary, preparedness actions
A wind advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least 31 mph or gusts of 45 mph are expected.
Motorists in the advisory area should be prepared for sudden gusty crosswinds, which can make driving difficult.
