Butch Cassidy 5K, 10K race volunteers needed in all positions

SPRINGDALE — The Butch Cassidy 5K and 10K Race in Springdale will be held on Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. Volunteers are needed in all positions to help the race run smoothly.

The volunteers are such an essential part of this awesome event and we appreciate your support. This year the proceeds will benefit the Grafton Restoration Heritage Foundation, Otter Play Early Learning Center and the Town of Springdale.

You may sign up to volunteer one of two ways:

  1. The easiest way is to click on the following link, fill out the basic form to select your position and T-shirt size and  you are done: https://www.comevolunteer.com/events/12088-butch-cassidy-10k-5k/volunteer
  2. Email Nate Wells at nathan@zioncanyonvillage.com and let him know your preferred position and T-shirt size.

Again, the race will be held Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. Both races this year will begin at the Canyon Community Center and will each have there own distinct loop routes throughout the areas near OC Tanner Amphitheater and the new Moenave Development. Unfortunately, the traditional route and UDOT permit to Grafton is not possible as a result of the SR-9 reconstruction project. However, we will continue this wonderful, long-running event with it’s one time route from Springdale to Springdale. We are very excited for this year’s course and appreciate your understanding and continuing support.

If you have a question about the details of available positions, please call one of the volunteer coordinators listed below.  On race day you must check in at the Volunteer Desk at Canyon Community Center before going to your assigned area (This is how we know all the volunteers are actually at the event!) You may pick up your T-shirt when you check in on race day or between 9am and 5pm on Friday November 10th at Town Hall. All volunteers will be expected to assist in the clean-up/break-down of their areas, as well as the general clean-up at the finish line. Please plan on sticking around to help with this important part of the race.

Nate Wells (phone: 435-590-0565) is working with the volunteers this year. Please contact him before October 25th  to confirm that you will be able to volunteer or if you have any questions or comments regarding your position with this year’s race. Keep in mind that it is possible to have more than one volunteer position and all volunteer posts are very important to ensure an efficient and well-organized race. You may register here, login and select the position you would like to commit to.

Thank you in advance for your gift of time and for making the commitment to join us again this year!
