P.A.W.S. issues call for volunteers

ST. GEORGE If you love animals and are looking for a way to make a difference, you can help by volunteering at the P.A.W.S. Adoption Center.

Since 2003, Providing Animals with Support has rescued more than 5,500 homeless animals. Most of the animals that P.A.W.S. rescues come from municipal shelters where they would otherwise be killed due to lack of space. Others are strays who were left to fend for themselves on the streets.

As the summer months approach the adoption center gets busy and needs help servicing the public by working in the office, greeting visitors, taking applications and answering phones.

“Warmer weather means our ‘snowbirds’ are headed north and we have more animals coming in,” said Lynn Burger, Director of Operations at P.A.W.S. “Without volunteers, we couldn’t operate the adoption center.”

The adoption center is located at 1125 W. 1130 N. in St George and is open Tuesday through Friday noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteers work in three-hour shifts.

If you would like to help, call the P.A.W.S. office at 435-688-9748 or complete an application online.
